Mums of Her Second Shift, a question for you: when do you get time to read?
Is it around bedtime? First thing in the morning when you wake up, perhaps?
Do you try to sneak a couple of chapters in while waiting in the car for school pick-up?
Or, are you like me and spend an extra 10 minutes at the supermarket and get a chapter in before tackling the groceries?
I’ve been stoked with the latest social media trend. I like to refer to it as my spicy reading time❤️🔥
Shop all of the books I’m reading from my new Amazon storefront here
It all started with the ‘A Court Of…’ series by Sarah. J. Maas. (ACOTAR is what it’s being referenced as)
Yep, I was ‘influenced’ by social media.
I have only read the first book of the ACOTAR series so far.
Personally, I felt it started off slow, but by the 30th chapter onwards – wow!
If you still need to read the first book, to me, it felt like a cross between Beauty and the Beast and Twilight.
So be prepared for some similar feelings.
After all, I have kids, a home, a husband, and a dog while attempting to find work and manage all the voices in my head at the same time.
I haven’t read a book in full since 2021 BC (Before Children).
But social media has finally inspired me to do something other than make ramen and rot on the couch watching cleaning and ASMR reels.
I have always loved reading.
Bryce isn’t a reader. Not even a picture book interests him.
But for the spicy books, well, he’s on board for these.
There are so many reels and content being created regarding the choice of books to read that inspire the desire 🔥
I have compiled a list of the books I would like to read by the end of the year.
Okay, the end of the year is closer than I care to think about.
So let’s say by early next year?
All of them spicy…. hot… full of desire and sexual tension. I’m here for it!
Without listing all the books I intend to read (about 25 or so have caught my eye) and writing a new blog about them weekly, I will update my new Amazon storefront with all my recommendations.
The Never King by Nikki St Crowe
This book is about Wendy and Peter; you know, from Peter Pan?
However, it is referred to as a ‘dark retelling,’ and a warning at the beginning states that it is “… not a children’s book.”
In fact, this is an excerpt from page one… page one!
